New grass seed has been planted on the bald patch on the main green. This should take hold within the next few weeks. We are delighted to see all the children and parents out playing on the Greens so it is important that we maintain them. We will be putting some granite flags under the benches as a lot of the soil has been worn away due to the amount of use the benches get.
Grass cutting is also under way and we have included the area on Stocking Lane, from the grass verge just outside Prospect Manor, down as far as the first gate on Stocking Lane. We are hoping the Council will complete the job to the traffic lights at Scholarstown Road.
Some residents in the View had asked if we could brighten up their area, so we are introducing Tree Rings which will hold small bedding plants around some of the trees. We have just placed our first one and we are hoping that they will prove successful.
Also, over the next two weeks we will be filling the 3 Beds on the main green with lots of summer flowers. These beds were a delight last year and the flowers lasted well into the autumn. We hope that they will be in full colour by the time our Annual Fun Day arrives which is organised for June 29th. We will advertise this event nearer the time.
In the meantime, we wish you all a safe and happy summer and don’t forget, PMRA is always looking for new volunteers. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you.
